Pushing the New Tools to the Limit
I'm excited that I have new tools in my emotional sanity toolbox: Exercise, meditation, yoga, deep breaths, and a recognition that everything changes, which means that whatever crap I'm dealing with now will shift and change, and whatever pain I'm feeling won't last forever.
But this week I am pushing some of those tools to the limit--I'm not getting much sleep at all (mostly because of dogsitting/catsitting duties), and it's beginning to take its toll. And yet, I am finding the tools useful, still: I lost count of how many times I recognized that I was reacting mostly from exhaustion, and had myself a little mini-meditation of a few deep, focused breaths.
There. Just took another one.
