Some Hopes and Plans for 2011
I just took a look, and it seems that I was smart enough to not make a list of goals for 2010 last year at this time. Ah well, I'm going to do it this time. Maybe not goals, but...intentions. Hopes. Plans. Ideas-about-doing.
* Continue and improve upon my daily meditation practice. It seems to be helping my life quite a bit, so I'd like to do some more focused meditations, a few more long-ish meditations a week. Mostly I'd like to not lose the daily practice, which is more helpful than the hour- and daylong meditations, I think.
* I hope to find more ways of getting lots of exercise. Currently I ride to work, almost no matter what. That's a good start, but it's not enough for living a healthier life. I love yoga, but I've struggled with keeping it up day-to-day.
* Money-stuff is changing in my life, and I'm starting a savings account for the first time in many years (already have a 401K, but this is different). I'm hoping to use it to shift my thinking about spending and saving, and around what money does/should/will mean to me.
* I'm (finally) once again in a happy, healthy open romantic relationship, and I plan to cultivate that relationship, and others, mindfully and with lots of compassion for self and others.
* Also working on cultivating my current friendships.
* 2011 will hopefully be a year of recognizing and respecting my own boundaries (and perhaps shifting them somewhat). Trouble with boundaries is central to most of my angst, so working on this will be tough, but should be very rewarding.
