Decluttering: Week Two!

So, last week I started my decluttering project. That project started with cleaning my bathroom, which included being on my hands and knees, scrubbing the entire floor by hand, trying to get it cleaner than a mop can. It included my reorganizing everything to get it off of the counter, and even included moving my little happy buddha in there, to inspire me in the morning while I'm brushing my teeth and hopping in the shower.

One of the things that was difficult about the bathroom cleaning was how it revealed how much I need to redo my entire bathroom. The floor is old-school linoleum, which never really bothered me until now. Now, it really does. And I do have some redecorating ideas for the bathroom, but that has to wait until the rest of my declutter plan is carried out!

So, I knew the bathroom would be a tough one. The kitchen is another tough one. So I am cutting myself some slack and doing my bedroom today, instead of the kitchen. And here's a funny, exciting thing (relatively): I woke up thinking happy thoughts about today being my "declutter" day. I am going to call this a success, because not only did I get my bathroom totally scrubbed down and reorganized, I actually motivated myself to keep going. Which is a big deal, if I'm going to eventually declutter everything and keep it that way.

So, for my bedroom, I'm going to:
• reorganize my bookshelves
• donate a bunch of books (and many graphic novels)
• organize my sex toy drawer (yes, I have one, and yes it's in need of organizing)
• clean my closet
○ Donate many clothes
○ Do all laundry
○ Clean above closet
• Rotate mattress
• Organize nightstands
○ Electronics by the bed: ereader, laptop, phone charger
• Vacuum
• Clean windows
• Set up lamp I've had FOREVER, but never used. Or toss it.

Yeah, this is going to not be much of a break really. But it will be nice when it's done.
